Anubhav Science Week2 L3 Story

The Case of the Vanishing Village Champions

A Water Detective Mystery for Anubhav Group - L3 Version

Chapter 1: Something is Wrong

Chirag ran into school. He looked worried. "Dhanashree Acharya! Help!"

"What happened?" Dhanashree Acharya asked.

"Good players are getting sick!" Chirag said.

Other students came - Manthan, Chitra, Veer, Payal, Kiran. Manoj Acharya came too.

"My cousin Rohit is a fast runner," Chirag said. "He fell down during practice. The doctor said there was no water in his body. But Rohit drinks water all the time!"

"My friend told me about Arjun from another village. Same problem," Chirag continued.

Manthan said, "Both boys drink water properly."

Veer said, "In Kabaddi, we learn you need the right amount of water. It depends on your weight and how much you play."

Payal said, "Let's write down facts."

Manoj Acharya said, "Players need 500-750 ml water for each hour they play."

Chitra did math. "Rohit weighs 30 kg. He needs about 2.5 liters every day."

Kiran asked, "What if he drank enough but still got sick?"

Naitik had an idea. "Maybe it's not how much water. Maybe it's what kind of water."

"Let's go see," said Dhanashree Acharya.

Chapter 2: Looking for Answers

The next day, they went to Khapa village. They took testing things and notebooks.

They met Rohit. He was getting better but still tired. "I drank water from our well, from the school pump, sometimes bottles," he said.

"Show us," Manthan said.

The well looked clean. The pump looked okay. But Veer saw something. "Well water is low. It should be high in monsoon."

"What is that green stuff?" Ashwini Acharya asked, pointing to the pump.

"Let's test it," Chirag said. "Send a sample to the AGVS school lab."

Then they saw open drains behind houses. Black water was flowing. Bad smell. When heavy rain comes, this dirty water goes everywhere.

The old man said, "This monsoon is different. Too much rain too fast. Dirty water mixes with well water."

Two days later, test results came. "Too much nitrate! Bad bacteria too!" Chirag read.

"What is nitrate?" Payal asked.

Manthan understood. "Rohit's body was fighting germs. That's why he needed more water."

Veer thought. "I need to calculate." He worked in his notebook. "His body needed extra water to fight sickness. Maybe 40% more. No wonder he fell down!"

Chapter 3: Fixing the Problem

More friends joined - Rushabh, Pranali, Vanshika, Astha. They studied weather information.

Rushabh said, "Normal monsoon brings slow, steady rain. This year - heavy rain, stop, heavy rain, stop."

Vanshika explained, "Earth is like a sponge. Slow water soaks in clean. Fast water runs on top, picks up dirt."

"So dirty drain water goes into wells!" Astha said.

Now they knew why. The same weather everywhere made the same problem everywhere.

The team made solutions. Veer calculated how much water athletes need when water is dirty. Payal made charts showing how to clean water.

They taught the villagers: "Boil water for 3 minutes. Use one cleaning tablet per liter. Wait 30 minutes."

They made a warning system. When heavy rain comes, test water first.

Six weeks later - good news! Rohit won races. Arjun won Kabaddi. Both said thank you.

"What did we learn?" Chirag asked.

"We're good detectives!" Payal said.

"More than that," Chirag said. "We learned that asking questions and using math can solve big problems."

Manthan raised his water bottle. "To Anubhav detectives!"

They solved the mystery. They helped many athletes. They felt ready for more mysteries!
